The outside of the home.

The outside of the home is very beautiful with many windows. In the front of the home there is a covered porch that partially wraps around the west side of the home and is accented with decorative beams, and stucco pop outs around the windows. On the east side of the home are the 2-one car garages with automatic garage doors. The back of the home has another smaller porch with the same decorative beams. Beyond being beautiful, the home is well built. The owners hired Garcia Construction out of Douglas. Garcia Construction is known to build a very solid home, going above and beyond what is required by law. The roof has 30 year fiberglass architectural shingles. It has a monolithic raft foundation that was specially engineered for this home and property by Buck Lewis Engineering out of Sierra Vista. It is frame built with stucco exterior. The water is through Arizona Water Company, and the electric is through APS. The home is set up for liquid propane and there is a propane tank in the back that is owned and not rented. The windows in the home are double paned with Low E glass. The home has very nice heating and cooling systems that were upgraded during the building. The air conditioner is a Carrier Home System that includes a heat pump. Further heat needed comes from an LP gas furnace in the attic. There was extensive dirt work done on the property to create a nice tiered landscape as opposed to the natural slope. The tiers are maintained by rock 'rip-wrap'. There are faucets on every side of the home including another out in the front yard. There are no other homes like this one in Bisbee.

This frontal view was taken right at the end of construction.

From this side view you can see the garages and the back porch however this was taken before the house was painted.

The Main Floor

When you first enter the home through the front door, the entryway is quite grand with a raised ceiling that goes up the whole two stories and includes a pot ledge and window. The entryway is raised and tiled. There is a half bath right off the entry that is also tiled. From the entry you can go three ways. You can go right up the stairs to the second story. You can take two steps down into a formal living room, complete with built-in book shelves, a bay window and a ceiling fan. Lastly, you can take two steps down to a hall and into the great room. In the hall there is a storage room with a door that leads to the garage. The storage room has built in shelves. Also in the hall is a coat closet, and a closet that gives access to the space under the stairs. In the great room is a beautiful kitchen with an island, double electric ovens, and lots of tall oak cupboards including a Lazy Susan. There is extensive counter space, and a gas stove top. There is a bay window, and many other windows throughout the room. The kitchen has track lighting and the great room has two ceiling fans. In the great room there are French doors that lead outside. Just off the kitchen is a large laundry room/pantry, also with built in shelves and a laundry tub. The entire home is plumbed for a central vacuum however the vacuum itself has not been installed.

The Septic System.

The home's most unique feature is a specialized septic system. An alternative septic system was installed as opposed to a traditional septic system. The system installed was a Clearstream Wastewater system. None of the water used in the house goes to waste! It is sprayed out through sprinklers on 3 different spray fields totaling 4200 square feet. The sprinklers go on at a set time after dark every night. It is great for grass and for trees. The owner has also installed a second sprinkler system in the fields to aid in watering all areas of the fields. These sprinklers are also set on a timer. The Clearstream system used for this house was approved through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. While some maintenance is required, The new owner has the option of doing this maintenance themselves or hiring out the responsibility. There is a gentleman just 30 minutes away in Sierra Vista who specializes in these types of systems and is very familiar with this particular system. The current owners opted to do the maintenance themselves however they did have the system checked about every 18 months to ensure the system was running properly. Below is a link to the Clearstream website.

This picture was taken of the lower of 3 fields not long after the owners planted grass in the summer of 2008.

This picture is of the first 2 fields soon after completion of the home in 2007.

The view to the north, while not as nice as the south is still beautiful.
